Guns banned at Buffalo Wild Wings

Epic thread on an OC-er getting hastled at one in Fort Wayne here.

Signs carry no weight of law in Indiana...so they will still have plenty of CC firearms in their restaurants.

Why not just leave the gun in the car and go eat your wings?

No offense, I understand you guys like to carry guns and all, but why exclude yourself from places that say no guns?

And honestly, is it really that much of a concern that you'll be murdered right then and there for no apparent reason in Applebee's? Is your car really so awesome that everyone's out to steal it and therefore dangerous to leave a gun in?

I get a good laugh at the gym I used to go to because a guy with a '95 Integra that looks like its next stop is the junkyard gets out of the car, puts a club on the wheel and one of those giant clamp locks through one of the rims. I mean really dude, there's Beamers and Benzes in this parking lot and someone's going to rob your $400-valued rust bucket?

Because they exercise their right to deny my right. Moot point anyway, BWW has the world's worst wings. :) Really moot since in NC, I can't carry into any place that serves alcohol, restaurant or not. I try to avoid shopping anywhere that posts no handguns signs, but sometimes it is unavoidable.

If I knew where trouble would be, I would avoid it. I don't know, so I exercise my right to carry concealed and be prepared. One of the nicest restaurants in my town is famous because a guy walked and started shooting. It happens, rarely...but it happens. Home invasions are rare, also. Since they are so rare, would you feel just as ok with your local government banning loaded firearms in your home and making self defense with a firearm a criminal offense?

Cars get broken into randomly. It happens. It happened to me on a business trip. The Hyatt I was staying at was in a nice part of town and had video surveillance as a deterrent. Didn't do any good, all they got was footage of a guy in my window at 3 am. Had a weapon been there and easily stolen, this guy would now be armed.

Why should I give my business to a place that doesn't respect my rights when there are so many other places that do?

I've only been to our local one once (crappy food, bad service), but I don't remember seeing a sign. It might be a franchise location though.

Here in OK there are no restaurant carry restrictions, only restrictions on carrying into places that predominately serve alcohol. And even if you find an establishment with a gunbuster sign, it's not legally binding. If you're CC'ing and they figure it out (you're doing it wrong) they can ask you to leave. If you refuse, you're trespassing, and that's when the cops can be called.

OK serious necro thread here. This is originally from 2004.

Since it seems to have resurrected more as an argument than Activism....

If BWW still has a corporate policy, and that can be verified, we can certainly start an Activism thread again.
