This is my first time posting a Poll, hope it works.
Aside from your usual carry or home defense weapons do you keep any of your weapons in your cabinet or safe loaded.

Options:
No
Yes, I keep them loaded
Yes, I keep them loaded but none in the chamber
Yes, I keep them loaded and one in the chamber

I for one do keep them loaded. I have the pleasure of walking out my door to take a few shots when I ver I feel the need or want. Many feel the need to criticize this and I want to see wee people stand on this issue.

Thank You,
Mike

Any weapon in my safe is unloaded. I do keep a home defense weapon (Taurus .357 mag) in a smaller safe (one of thos elittle electronic finger touch safes) next to the bed that is loaded and ready to go.

Same here.
The storage safe guns are unloaded, but the quick-access safe gun is ready to go.

Most of mine are unloaded, except a tactical couple and my handguns. The ones that are unloaded have detachable magazines and those are filled to capacity. In a couple of seconds, I can have operable weapons ready for most any event.

The guns in my safe are unloaded. I check them before putting them away and when any one of them is removed.

I figure that if I absolutely had to get to the safe and open it, it would take too much time and that could be a problem. But I do have a few loaded mags in the safe for quick access.

when

I go to bed at night I open the safe and my rifles all have loaded mags in them and a few ready to go, my night stand has my glock, a sure fire, a sp101 with ct laser grip and a six cell mag light...mags & speed loaders...pellitor electronic ear muffs

I voted "No," but the poll really needed an option for "I keep them unloaded except my carry/home defense guns." This is the case for many of us here, myself included.

Mine are unloaded - but my attorney keeps his loaded. The explanation I was given it's in case someone breaks in and forces him to open his safe. I don't know how often this happens, but it's something he worries about (might have a lot to do with his profession).

All the guns in my safe are locked and loaded. When friends come over and I need to get something out of there, I tell them that everything in there is locked and loaded. Keeps them from wanting to screw around with my guns since not all of them are as knowledgable about gun safety as I am. Plus, it really enforces the point not to touch when they ask to see something and I drop a full magazine and eject the chambered round.

Since I only have one cabinet, I keep all unloaded.
Don't want to have any doubt at all when I pick it up whether it's loaded of not (of course I clear it).

Unloaded. loaded magazines nearby.

I figure it takes a whole lot less time to slam in a magazine and rack the slide or slap an enbloc in the M1 than it does to patch holes in the drywall or floor or worse.

I voted NO, but this is true in general. I usually have one pistol loaded, one of my 1911s, cocked and locked just in case.

If I ever get a 4" 357, it will serve that purpose.

All pistols outside the safe are loaded. Some chambered, Taurus M85UL and Kel-tec P32. Hi-Power or a 1911, not chambered, with multiple magazines in a modified soft sided brief case / satchel.

all of my social-type guns have loaded magazines inserted, but are bolt-open and chamber-flags inserted. so i voted "none in the chamber".

my novelty/safe-queen/antique type stuff is obviously unloaded.

i don't keep a safe near my bed. i keep a pair of pants/shorts that still has my ccw/holster. if my alarm goes off, the first thing i'm doing is getting dressed.

All of my guns are locked up in a gun cabinet and unloaded with a trigger lock on them with the exception of my pistols. Those I keep locked and inaccessable to my kids. My Personal protection is in a pistol safe.
