My first gun was a g27 and It was love at first shot. Then I bought another glock and another and by glock #8 I would leave the range underwhelmed thinking "if you've shot one you've shot them all." Bought a couple of hk's and for the price tag didn't do any thing for me so they went to new homes. Wife bought me a ruger sr40c, took it to the range and it had a 15% failure rate. Still waiting to get it back from ruger. Had an xdm 45 in there somewhere and it just didn't have a place here. A lot of money tied up in an xd with a "match" grade barrel.
Yesterday I took a 2 hour drive to take advantage of the SA promo. Picked up the xd essential package for 399. Got the 3in. subcompact. Took it to the range and it was accurate as could be and no malfunctions through its first 250 rounds. It carries well in my galco supertuck, and I love the grip saftey. I have peace of mind now carrying one in the pipe....finally. I know the glock will not go off by itself but still I always had that in the back of my mind.
It turned out to be the perfect gun for ME. I'm accurate with, carry it nice and comfy and have complete peace of mind in condition 1 now. All these things added up and turned out to be the best pistol purchase to date for me.
Have any of you guys bought a pistol and been satified 100% in all your criteria for a gun: comfort, accuracy, saftey, reliability?

6.5 Swedish Mausers. I always seem to hit what I'm aiming at with those things.

Colt 1903, and a Mosin Nagant pistol

+1, though my M57 also really surpassed my expectations. I bought it on a whim and it has proved to feel great in the hand and be a hoot and a half to shoot.

My FIE derringer once I fixed it.
I hit a 25 yard target with it, really "wow'd" me.

The HK P2000sk. I love this gun! The only thing I'm disappointed in, is the fact that it doesn't load itself. Oh well.

The Sig P226 and Glock 27 both were 100% for me. But a gun that really did alot better than I expected was my Ruger LCP. I picked it up because I wanted something really discreet and didn't have the money for a larger pistol. I picked it up thinking that as long as it went bang everytime that would be good enough. It did that and more. At 20 yds. from a rest you can hit a 6 inch target. Plus it has a nice trigger. Its DAO but it is smooth and not too heavy. It is not my favorite gun but I got more than what I expected and it has its place.

Easy to burn through a couple of boxes with this one, lots of fun! And is good close range woodchuck medicine. (really close range :))

So far - the most surprising gun for me is the S&W Bodyguard 380 I just bought the other day. I got it for pocket carry as it was the most comfortable in my hand and in my pocket, had the most desireable features (for me) and it came with a laser for less than $400.
What surprised me the most was how much fun it was at the range and how well I was able to shoot it on my first outing. This thing weighs 14.3 ounces with 7 rounds in it yet it was surprisingly accurate and comfortable shooting with very moderate and manageable recoil. The laser sight was useless in the full sunlight but the iron sights were rather nice - especially for a gun of that size. I sent about 180 rounds downrange with it - no blisters, pinching...no sore spots on my hands...and it worked flawlessly with the Winchester white box flat nose FMJ's and the Blazer Brass FMJ's.
The only problem it had was with some Serbian PPU ammo - out of 30 rounds I had 6 failures to fire - but each of these rounds went off after subsequent pulls of the trigger (love that double strike capability) And each round fed and ejected without incident.
So far - I'm really happy with it!

1911 American Classic ll...all the hype about inferior this and that, I had my concerns, yet it has never let me down and the slide is velvet smooth. The S&W 5906 and 6906 are nothing to sneeze at either. The only two I have ever gotten rid of were a P-22 and a Glock 23 not because they were particularly problematic but were just not what I was looking for.

Mine was a Sig p226 in 9mm. I have shot Glocks all my life, and love them. I picked up the 226 on a whim and shot it a few times. I ran it through the qualification course at the police department I was working for one night and shot a 100% first go round. I was astounded by my group size with the gun, it was about half the size of what I was used to seeing with the Glock that I was issued. I still own the gun almost 10 years later, and still love it!

I've got two...

I must have rented close to 20 different guns before I decided on these guns, but I am very pleased with the guns I finally decided to buy.

M&P series
GP100

To me, the M&P series are the best autoloaders on the market. Awesome ergonomics, controls recoil extremely well, durable, reliable, metal parts are made of stainless steel, has a chasis system to further support the polymer frame, excellent sights, great finish, extremely accurate and reliable.

I also think that the GP100 is the best medium frame .357 design ever made. It is the most durable, the most reliable, medium framed .357 magnum ever design. It also has a modular design, making it really easy to work on. It is also extremely accurate.

Steyr M9. I found that I ended up liking it more than my glocks. I think it compares very very favorably to the G19 (which I also really like).

The steyr is becoming my go to, the one I'd take over my glocks, sig, Kahr, etc.
