My example; IAC Model 1887 replica.

Been looking into getting one for 3 years, finally decide that the time is right and poof, not one to be found.

Not on the interwebz, none in my LGS, none at the Gunshows. Guess I get to research when the next shipment comes in (if ever)

You guys ever had a gun do this to ya?

check the gun boards (like here)
post a wanted on gunboards
check gunbroker
check AA
check GA
find who made the and see if they are still around or not

Odd. I know there was a new one at my LGS when I picked up a IAC 1897 Winchester trench shotgun a couple months ago.

I didn't think those were a "hard to find" kinda item, being Chinese repops, after all.

That's funny beatledog7

I just saw one at my LGS. I remember because I had a few distinct thought that went like this;
1. Ooooo pretty
2. A Hi Power in .40? Never seen one
3. Wonder if $500 is a good price, but can't find any comparables with my iPhone, so I decide to pass it up.

On another note, it never ceases to amaze me how much you guys are willing to help... Even if it's just finding a gun

Any lefthanded bolt-action .22 rimfire rifle with a tubular magazine!
Where did they go? Were they ever here at all?
Has anybody alive today ever seen one with his own eyes and touched one with his own hands?

fiddleharp, that sort of rifle would have been a special order sort of thing.

I have a right-handed version of the rifle you describe though, how 'bout that? :)

Shoot, I saw 3 of them in less than a week
Oh course I Live in Alaska....
Don't know why you would lug something like that gee's what the hell are you going to do with a snub??

And it weighs as much as my shotgun

In the mid-seventies, Dixie Gun Works sold a flintlock elephant gun replica. It was 0 or 4 gauge, I can't remember which. It was a monster and I want one bad. Really.

I don't care if it's a total beater. I just want to shoot it every now and then.

PM me, anyone, if you have a line on one.

I don't know if it was a Dixie Gun Works, but the last gun show I was at here in VA had a 4 gauge. Can't help you find it, but it seems to be a trend, someone asks, and another person has just happened to see it.

Browning currently makes a LH T-Bolt .22, and CZ offers a lefth hand .22 rifle. Hard to find? Try finding an Uberti made .45 Colt copy of the Remington O/U Derringer.......

A Colt lightweight Commander in .38super....at least they all SEEM to fall off the face of the earth when I actually have the cash to buy one :-/

Thunder173----I think I got them all.:neener: Seriously I do have 7 of them. They can still be had up in northern Maine in some of the LGS for $300-$500. You need a road trip.:D
