I went in today to murphys gunshop in Tucson,AZ... I went in there and asked them about a Cz sp01.. they said they could get pricing during the week.. then asked where were the glocks they pointed me in that direction... and as i was looking at them i looked at the corner of my eye at the two salesman.. maybe its just my paranoia but i saw that they were talking about me and a buddy that went in there... i was looking at them..i ask this.. shouldnt a salesman come up to you and ask you anything i can help you with any questions?? arent they supposed to do that?? Maybe it could of been that i told him i was 20 but i was turning 21 next wednesday? I think he could of came over and said you know i can answer question for you but i cannot let you handle the gun... that would of been well... i think? what about you guys? another thing.. i saw a glock 26 going for like 560...thats ridiculous.. i also told them about buds gun shop and they said they dont transfer ownership of brand new guns... Even though im not 21 dont you guys think they could of came over and said i can help you out with anything but you cannot handle a gun until wednesday??

iv never had a problem with a place atleast taking a gun outta display while still retaining control. sounds like you should find a new shop. i just found a good one went in planning on spending 100$ left having spent 200$ and had nothings but "anything else" "thank you's" and smiles. i had came in the week before asking about some stuff with no real plan on ordering. they handled my questions. i said id have to get back to them. and they didnt do the standard response to a "il have to think about it" when they look at you like you just wasted 5 minutes of thier lives. so i looked around for a few, then walked back and ordered it.

they found a patron for life

as far as my area goes, it is damn tough to find a gun shop that is not full of worthless sales people, it is almost as if they feel like they are doing you a favor by helping you.

I feel your pain man

yea guys... im pissed..... my business and all the business of others feeds these guys...im going to go to other shops...im a college student and work for the food service industry to pay for college//gun :) and if i get a complaint or people look at you like they need help.. i help them out...well thanks for the replies guys...member if you are ever in tucson az dont go to murphys! :) have a good one guys and thanks for the replies

Don't have that problem in the shops I go to, in fact it is usually the other way around. Can't just look at the cases bc they want to show you the latest and greatest. Sorry about your experience.

as i was looking at them i looked at the corner of my eye at the two salesman.. maybe its just my paranoia but i saw that they were talking about me and a buddy that went in there
Did you hear them talking or just saw them talking? Sounds like they answered your questions and got out of your way to let you shop. Not everyone wants a salesman hanging over their head as they look at something. Did you ask any more questions? There are a lot of factors that goes into the pricing of items in a business. If you know of a business that has lower prices why not shop there instead of telling another business about his pricing.

If you're ever up in Prescott Valley, go to High Noon on Hiway 69. Pretty good folks in there.

And, if you make it up this way, email or PM me first. I'm about 20 minutes from there, and they've got a pretty good indoor range. There's also a quarry about 40 minutes from there where the shootin's free.
:)

there are few places that i buy guns from for that reason, the bad attitude, and un socialble personel working there, i go to many places to look but only buy from one or two, that i have a long history with. i love walking into the gunshops that i buy from, they always know my name, greet me as i come in. for one they are friendly people but besides that they know when i do go in there i am buying something.

If you find a great gun shop with good people, support the heck out of them.
I gave up years ago (though I have since found a fairly nice one, but it is way too far away from me).
Instead, I have a found a great guy with an FFL that will order or transfer anything I want (he has a very small display case where he buys and sells some pistols and rifles used--but his main business is dog grooming).

Unless you get the short guy with glasses, and beard, most of Murphy's guys are kinda rude, but none so rude as was at lock and Load, a shop that went bye bye some time ago. Or Jerry's, what a nasty dude he was. Kept an ashtray every yard down the counter, and I had to leave...and I am a smoker. Worse than a bar. Never went back.
Friendly customer service, clean sales area, but no milsurps, that's Sportsman's Warehouse. If you find what you want online, SW will recieve for $25. Also, wait to see what The Marksman II indoor range, (where the old Jensen's West range was), does with firearm sales when they open, hopefully next week.

thanks for the offer clff h .. ill keep that in mind.. i did ask a question.. i saw a sig p220 stainless for 699.... i thought hmmm it must be used but then i thought to myself i heard they have great prices here... so i asked if they were used... they told me white tag used colored tag new... and thats it... never again talked to me...and when i asked i they didnt come over.. I do understand that some people dont want a salesman hovering around you but im a a noob..and i wouldnt mind if someone came up to me and all.. but what can ya do..next week is when i will really start shopping around.

I was at a gun show yesterday and a fella with a table had some civil war type rifles.... I told him I didn't know much about them. He said, I would be glad to educate you.... that's the attitude! I like it.

I like shops that will take the time to help you especially if you are receptive the help. You have to learn sometime. But, you do need to be prepared to make a decision.
