I would like to buy an Ar-15 with a gas piston system and was wondering which one is more accurate, reliable, rate of fire, or the works dose anyone know anything about these guns? The pof is more reliabl

May I ask why rate of fire is of question? Seems to me that your trigger finger is going to dictate that.

I wish I had the dilemma (and the cash) of choosing between an H&K or POF piston AR! I honestly would go with the H&K because they have a chance of becoming the Army's new carbine/rifle. They made it to phase II in the Army's carbine replacement trials I heard. Either way both companies have a stellar reputation here and almost every other forum, magazine, blog, or word of mouth that I've seen or heard!

Between the two choices, I would go with the H&K MR-556A1.

Friend's POF P415 failed during a carbine course and he had to revert to using his Colt 6920 (that he brought as a backup) to finish the course. After POF fixed his P415, he sold it and got a Colt 6940P.

But, I'm biased in that I would rather have a FN SCAR-16S than a gas-piston AR15 type rifle.

Get the HK they have way more r&d cash and it's a combat proven design. The MR556 piston is based on the G36 design.

I think HK quality is incredible however the 556 it awfully front heavy. The POF's i've seen were too though. If i had to choose between the two it would definitely be the HK but at the price point there are a number of rifles i'd choose over both. If it had to be a piston AR i'd go with an LWRC with fluted barrel. If not it would be the AUG A3 i just ordered. Second choice would be the SCAR.

Go check out the piston forum on ar15.com. There's a whole board of people talking about the relative merits of various piston-driven AR's. BTW, LWRC seems to be the consensus pick for best-in-class over there (and they are super-nice guns). The H&K gets criticized for having a VERY heavy barrel which is not easily replaced. The POF's get pretty good love, but some have had lemons and uneven customer experiences. Adams Arms also gets good marks relative to price.

If I were dropping that kind of coin on a piston-operated rifle, I'd probably get an FN SCAR.

If I were dropping that kind of coin on an AR, I'd probably get a Noveske.
