I have been looking at a few used P30's and P30SK's . They are used and on all of them the right side slide-stop/release levers are loose and flop around. I have read that this is a common thing. My question is this : Can you remove the right side lever and run the gun without it ? It appears that the frame is the only thing that holds the lever on. If you take the lever off (right hand side) will the left side stay on and the slide stay on the gun and run without it ? Thanks for any information.

On my P30 the right lever is rock solid. On my P30SK it's loose as you describe, but not so loose as to make any noise or be of any concern. It operates as intended. I've never investigated removing it. My question is why would you?

The reason I would take it off is to avoid the lever from flopping downward and upward making a rattling sound. I am right handed and dont use slide-stops on the right side of pistols.

My P30 is several years old with at least 5-7K rounds through it. A fantastic pistol for whatever intended purpose you want to use it for. The gun was designed as a law enforcement service pistol and the ambi slide release is a design feature specified by many European law enforcement agencies.

The slide release on the right side of mine is a little loose, but it doesn’t affect the function of the gun and I can’t hear it rattle when I carry it. I would recommend that you learn to live with a loose RH slide release if you decide to go with one of these.

Messing around with my P2SK seems like it shouldn't hurt anything. Although if enough debris got in the tabs recess you may never get it back on.
I would think an easier fix would be to ad a piece of tape to the knurled end of the slide stop. That is where the slight up to down movement comes from. .

As others have mentioned.. it doesn't flop around or make any noise or present a problem with function. You could contact HK's Customer Service for an RMA to fix it.

Thanks a lot! Just looked at mine and it’s a bit loose. Since I never noticed it before, it’s a total non issue.

I removed mine on my P30L years ago and have never missed it nor have had any issue with the left slide.

A small piece of cut to size, self adhesive velcro solves this. Use the loop side. It is invisible under the slide stop and provides enough cushion and friction to eliminate the rattle without effecting function.

The right side safety level on my P30SK-v3 is pretty much rock solid. It has a liitle bit of looseness but I would not consider it anywhere near excessive.

With the DA/SA triggre, I feel the safety system is less important.

I also have a P30SK-LEM trigger. I did not check it specificallic for this thread but I have not seen any looseness in the safety as I have used the pistol. I am more comfortable with the LEM trigger versus a conventional striker fired pistol but I’m still most comfortable with a DA/SA trigger.

You do remember we're talking about the slide stop lever.

Oops.

But the answer is the same on my P30SK-V3 for the slide stop lever. Lever can be moved a little with the slide in battery but it is spring loaded and stays put until the magazine pushes the lever up to lock the slide back. The lever does not just rattle around.

Again, my P30SK-LEM is stored away and I did not look at it.

I checked my P30SK-LEM pistol and it is the same as my P30SK-V3 pistol. The slide stop lever can be moved a bit but does not just rattle around. It is spring loaded to remain in one position until the magazine follower causes the lever to hold the slide back.
