A new HK Product, the USP45CT is a compact .45 caliber handgun developed for U.S. special operations use. Termed the CT for counter terrorist by insiders, the HK USP45 Compact Tactical combines the proven features of the full-size USP45 Tactical pistol in a smaller, more concealable package.

Heck, with these killing terrorist better than the other USP45 or USPC45 we should be in tall cotton.

its been around for a couple years actually. i don't think it was released to the public though. i've never seen one for sale anywhere. this is what happens when you sink a bunch of money into the Mk23 project and make it the size of a Desert Eagle and SF complains about it.

I still marvel that the US Military is demanding a .45acp handgun when there is such a huge amount of personal body armor being utilized by every side of every conflict anymore.

The Russians and the Europeans are looking to small calibers and high velocity along with bullets that look for all the world, like miniature versions of a tank gun S.L.A.P. load to attempt to overcome modern body armor with center mass shots.

I guess all our current Special Operators can consistantly make head shots, even under the duress of combat conditions, and none need to worry about something as trivial as full body armor.

Hey, I LIKE the .45acp but I have no plans for engaging in combat anytime during the rest of my life either.

Looks like H&K is making an AR15 too - will mags for it cost $50 like all their other mags?

It most likely won't matter, as they won't be selling the 416 to the public. A small number of the uppers got released and HK was trying pretty hard to get them back for a while. They are currently "collector's items" for the HK crowd. As for the magazine issue, it uses standard mags and a standard lower.

As for the Compact Tactical, they do have them in some shops. The ones that they released didn't have the taller sights shown in the picture, and they don't have the match trigger that the full size has. Unless the next batch has the tall sights, they are simply a Compact with a threaded barrel.
