H&R .22 repair

Finally took my late Father's H&R .22 Model 929 to the range and had multiple mis fires. Using his old ammunition, I replaced it with no better results. Rim is dented well, but also experienced misalignment attempting to swing out the cylinder to eject the cartridges. Had to move the hammer slightly to relieve the blockage.

Is this a gunsmith only repair or something a hobbyist could tackle?

Gunsmith repair, not for a hobbyist unless your hobby is gun repair and you are very good at it.
