New anti gun law proposed.

Read up on it and decide how and what YOU will do about it.

It is up to our ELECTED EMPLOYEES to stand the ground and not allow us to be disarmed.

I am willing to bet that the majority of Americans do not want the 2 nd Amendment to be altered or touched in any manner.

BUT the fake news is promoting a load of B.S. that 65% of us want more gun control.

Proof that they are lying, there has NEVER ,EVER been a poll that polled more than a few thousand ---- in a nation of 350 MILLION.

A statistically valid sample of a population of millions only requires a few thousand sampled items. Both conservative and liberal pollsters use the same techniques; the fact millions were not surveyed is certainly not proof the sample is a lie.

Maybe so but where are they taking their poll and who are they polling? That is what makes their data questionable. I have seen the polling demographics on a few political polls and I'm not a bit surprised if you ask 65 registered dems and 35 registered reps that you get results showing 65% favoring what dems favor.
Ask the right people the right questions and you can get any results you have predetermined.

^^^ This^^^

I’m not a statistician, but I have no faith in poll that use a very small sample.
And as for that house bill, I doubt it will ever make it out of the first committee let alone to the floor for a vote. It is the most extreme wet dream of every liberal.

Are those the same people who did the polls showing HIllary would trump Trump in the election? I honestly do not pay any attention to the polls anymore.

And anything from the liberals is usually incorrect. They will all get on TV like little wind up dolls and state the same poll numbers until someone confronts them with the real numbers and then suddenly they all shut up in unison.

They have a philosophy that if the same thing is repeated time and time again, the populace will eventually believe it. And the sad part is, a large majority of the populace will believe it after a while. And that populace is the same group that actually listens to the political spouting from Hollyweird.

Did I miss something? I looked up H.R. 5018 in the 115th Congress. It was introduced 2/14/2018 and is titled "Education and Workforce Innovation Act". I didn't read anything pertaining to firearms in it. Is this the correct proposed bill? When writing my congresspeople I like to include a bill number when applicable.

Thanks. I thought I missed something too. Glad you asked. I'd like to know also

Someone did some homework on this as the list of guns they prohibit is quite extensive.

The list of "exempt" "competition" guns is also telling. For instance they list the Mossberger 930 Waterfowl but not the 930 JM.

I'm thankful that I have a Rep that is part of the 2nd Amendment caucus. Unfortunately, my old district and the district next to it have to co sponsors. :-(

Two additional problems with surveys are, they do not include hang-ups or refusals to participate as input data, and they assume that the answers they are given are truthful. I always add a signature line to my emails during election times saying "Bring back the mystery in life, lie to a pollster".

I looked at who co sponsored it and there was not a single R on the list. My first district D even signed it. Time for her to go! Waiting for the summary. Guess they missed the Mosins and SMLE completely. About half of what I own are not on any of their lists either. :scrutiny: Seems all the usual hunter stuff is going to be exempt though  Guess it is not scary enough. One of my Mini 14 is on the list and 4 of them are not WTH:what:This thing had better be dead in the water.

Looks like they are looking at CAs :cuss:law as a guideline.
More people are killed every year at train crossings than with "assault" weapons, no call to ban trains.
Drunk drivers killed over 10000 people last year. Guess we need to ban alcohol again. I mean it worked so well the first time.

(I added emphasis) This time around....

This is the first step toward the current idea of "common sense" gun control. The Donald got the antis to show their hand in this move. We can kill this move in committee now. We see here what's in store for the future.

This all the Democrats will understand.
that's right, and they will someday understand that OUR side is the one with all the guns.
This will never happen.
Wanna bet? I can see it happening very easily, over a number of issues that have nothing to do with guns.

What if the Federal Government tries to enforce Federal drug laws, and descends on California with thousands of DEA , FBI, ATF and U.S. Marshall's ? A lot of gun toten' rednecks there that smoke a lot of dope. One accidental shot and you could have a civil war in progress........

I believe the bill you are making reference to is H.R. 5087, not 5018. Here is a link to the bill in question:

This is worth reading, not that it will pass, but because it's a marker for what the antigunners want. I read it, and it closely mirrors the 1994-2004 AWB. That means it grandfathers existing weapons. The difference is that, going forward, they would have to be transferred through FFL's.

Also, pay attention to the Democrats who are not cosponsors of this bill. They may not necessarily be pro-gunners, but they might at least be amenable to lobbying on our behalf. The dyed-in-the-wool antigunners are outing themselves by cosponsoring the bill.

I agree it can and it will happen. We were very lucky when Obama was in and he had both houses, that they could have put the screws to all gun owners with the AWB with no sunset and total confiscation n of all of them.

Yeah, good luck with that. I'm fairly sure CA/NY/NJ will be flat-out banning all semi-autos ahead of the 2020 elections, SCOTUS will still be punting, and Democrats still desperately one-upping each other on guns (and all other issues) past the point of insanity. Is there a single openly pro-gun (even self-proclaimed) Democrat at the national level at this time? Before it was Harry Reid (may God bake his soul) who would occasionally at least make pro-gun-sounding noises, but if there is anyone else now that he's left, they are both very quiet and not getting any airtime.

Also, we all know that when it inevitably comes to bloodshed, it will be the Republicans who finally understand the stakes at play (and almost certainly too late)

Weed's not lucrative enough to fight over. But populations are worth fighting over. It will be about immigration enforcement, if anything (assuming it's not well under way already, which you could be forgiven for thinking is currently the case given the CA governor's war declaration).
