I need to replace the mainspring assembly in a Mod. 622 which I recently inherited. I have a new assembly from Numrich. What is the technique for removing the retaining pin from the new part and getting it to fit between the Mainspring Guide Seat and the Hammer? The new part comes assembled and is under considerable spring tension.
The head on this part is made from a flimsy piece of nylon, which fatigued and shattered on the original without the pistol having ever been used. It is absolutely unfired & NIB. The all-steel part for the H&R Model 532 looks and measures identical. Would it be OK to use the 532 part in the 622? I would like to avoid the nylon part if possible.
Thanks for any help.
