Hey guys,

First of all, for those who advise looking for old forum threads, I TRIED MY BEST! lol. I seem to remember there was once a thread here about a man who customized either an H&R or NEF single-barrel shotgun for a budget home defense gun, but I was unable to find it. I also remember some pictures being posted of a cut-down version of this little gun. A little help, please?

But seriously, no need to spend that much $$$ on a $75 shotgun. They're easy enough to shorten at both barrel (measure twice, cut once) and butt, fit good quality recoil pads to, and use like that with no curb feelers and fuzzy dice at all. Just be sure to observe legal minimums in shortening one of these guns. I'd advise sticking to a 20 gauge version if you plan to cut one down close to legal minimums, the 12 is pretty stout in the recoil department already and removing more material will make that worse.

The factory youth gun with a 22" barrel is shorter as issued than my 18" barreled 870, how much shorter than that do you really need? I'd rather have the MOD choke than a 4" shorter barrel.
