Can anyone tell me if the 12 gauge H&R Pardner pump (870 knock off) is compatible with Remington 870 12 gauge parts (after market buttstocks/forend a etc)?
Thanks

Shot one of my buddy's yesterday. It was smooth and a pleasure to fire with an 18.5 inch barrel shooting buckshot. But I will say that it was fresh back from the factory due to a problem with the ejector or extractor, I forget what my buddy said. I think the factory may have slicked it up a bit for him, because what he got back is slicker than any 870 I've ever played with.
As for "why not an 870?" The Pardner is cheaper and just as good, at least in my experience.)
The H&R Pardner isn't an 870 copy. Has a different receiver and for some daft reason barrels are factory installs.
I would question the quality of the metal's used in the pardner pump gun.
Yes the gun shoots, but for how long, or how many rounds.
There have been postings across the net about "inexpensive" guns not lasting through one box of shells.
When the clay target shooters start using the imports from China then I might think differently.
Untill that happens I'll bank on the real Remington 870!!
I worked in the auto industry for 8 years fixing machines that harden drive train parts chinese steel needed lab test from U.S. labs before we would use it. You can not depend on the make up of the steel to be what they say .I would question the quality of the metal's used in the pardner pump gun.

Harder isn't always better . Do you have tempered testing files or just using a standard file? The one I tried file tested in all parts as harder than the Remington equivalent.
ThisMaybe to support American jobs?
I can't recall an 870 in the olympics.
That said, a good used Remington ain't hard to find. I'm really not into Chinese products, let alone shotguns.

As for why H&R insists that the barrels are a factory-only install. Beats me.
