H&R Survivor butt pad

I just put some money down on a Survivor in .308. I like the way it handles, the light weight and the caliber. Does anyone make a slip on butt pad that will fit? The rifle has a hard plastic butt plate and I'm not sure how bad the recoil will be. The rifle is 6.5 pounds but it does have a pistol grip to take away some of the sting. What about scope suggestions? I'm a lefty and I can reload a single shot nearly as fast as I can work the bolt on a right handed rifle.
