Anyone using this? The Lee reloading manual states it is a compressed load but the Hodgdon data says it is not. I am going to try this powder. Just wondered if anyone is using it.

I've just started using it in 7mm RemMag. I love it. Meters well, good velocity, shoots clean and most importantly it's very accurate.

I don't load for the 260 but feel maybe H1000 would be too slow?
As such you may have trouble getting enough powder in to get good velocities. I know it is just a little on the slow side for the 270 in my opinion so maybe the same for the 260.
Its worth a try though.

H1000 may be ok for the heavier bullets but there are better powders for overall use. Most of the 4350 family and even 4831 family work well. Alliant Rel-19 is superb, as well as Rel-22.
I have a 6.5x55, and it's a near twin of the 260, and I use H414 with the lighter 100gr bullets, and Rel-19 and 22 with 140gr.

Thanks, I have been using H4350 and Varget, but just thought of trying this powder.

Haven't used it for that caliber, however, it's magic in my .300 win mag....consitent velocities regardless of temp....
