well I decieded to return H110 sounds to tricky for me they now have 2400 in stock got that instead sounds like a safer bet at my level of experence thanks for all advise given
any input on 2400 sounds like it can be good with lswc and has a safer load range.

I like 2400 because it's safe to load at lower pressures. H110/296, well I don't really care for the "Go hot or stay home" requirement. You can load 2400 down a fair ammount. It simply gets a bit messy, not scary. Opinions vary, but from what I've seen, Standard small pistol primers are plenty for 2400, YMMV.
One of my favorite .357 loads is 14.0 gr of 2400, 158 gr SWC & CCI 500 primer. I don't recall what max was exactly, 15.3 IIRC. (Note: Sanity check all loading data you find on a forum against published data.) I tend to stop at the most accurate load, and leading picks up when you go higher.

125 grain Hornady XTP over 22 grains of H110 with a 5 1/2 Remington primer. That's pretty much all I use in my GP100. The spousal unit uses 125 grain XTP's over 7.2 grains of Titegroup. She doesn't care for the flashbang effect.

I load with both 2400 and H-110. And I always load them to max or just a hair over published max. I only use 125, 140 and 158gr XTP's. The H-110 always gets put together with a mag primer. The 2400 I use standard primers. I NEVER down load a .357 mag,,, NEVER! That's what .38 +P is for. But,,, I did work the loads up from published min. loads to max+ with different powders and primers to make sure all was safe from several current lots of powder and primers I have.

The 2400 loads seem to shoot a tad softer than the H-110. We shoot these out of a S&W 4" 686P and a 3" 60 Pro. I look forward to shooting them out of a 686P 6" in the future. Once the wife learned a few thing she can fire the mags with no problem out of her j-frame. And wonders why grown men cry over shooting mag's out of a small pistol. :) Both put out a fireball and cylinder flash. :) We can't tell if the H-110 is brighter or not.

After shooting 2k or so through my 686P and 750 or so through her 60 Pro we have no flame cutting like I use to get on the old K frames or N frames built on steel frames. Both pistols are still factory tight.

Both powders are easy to work with and meter well in my Lee powder measures.

Work your loads up and have a blast with your own mags. They will be much better than the retail garbage out there. :)
