Does anyone know about the Hammerli/Sig .22 trailside signature target pistol(the one that took 1st place at Perry). I shoot standard pistol matches and am looking for a high quality .22 target pistol. This one shoots.75" at 50 meters...

The trailside is marketed by Sig and made by Hammerilli. They used to be easy to find in the early days of their introduction. They quickly got a bad rap due to their magazines and some issues with the slide lock wearing too quickly.

These issues seem to have been resolved (new mags) and fixed slide locks.

I have had my 4" barrel model since the first year of introduction...Actually this is the second one. My first was replaced by this one under warrantee. This one has none of the problems of my first pistol and is very accurate.

www.larrysguns.com is the link of a shop that carries accessories for the sigs and hammerillis. You can call Larry up and he could probably tell you where to find a signature model.

Larry tunes the trailside and one of his guns is what was used at Perry. I have one and it is a tackdriver with very little recoil and a superb trigger.

What brand of .22 ammo does it like best, or does it do well with pretty much any standard velocity flavor?

is it the one with a blue/gray laminate grip? i've got a friend that's been looking for one.:( link doesn't work for me...:cuss:

Larry Carter's guns are custom Trailsides with select barrels and his trigger job - intended for Bullseye use...they run a little over $1000.

A good start however is available from CDNN...their most recent catalog has 4.5in and 6in target models at $350 and $370 respectively....very good prices.
