Handgun sales rules in Oregon

When I was in Oregon last year I checked out a gun shop and asked. I was told that residents could purchase and take it home the same day.

Egad, how I wish I had gotten that job in Oregon. It could have been a 40% cut in income, but would still have meant the same life style I have here and I could buy guns without BS.

I live in Oregon and have purchased a rifle and and a hand gun from stores. The rest i have are from citizens. My Ruger p97dc was bought the same day i went into look at it.I went in and said i wanted it.I paid $9 dollars and answered on paper questions like am i an illegal allien,I'm not a fugitive,etc..Waited about 10 minuets "they called in and were checking info on me" and they said it was approved. They then had me do the fingerprint thing and i was a proud owner of a pistol.

Rifle was the same.

Like chetrogers did,no waiting its easy to buy a gun in Oregon . Fill out the form get prints they call to check you out. Over in ten minutes and out the door with gun in hand. Also easy to get a carry licence $65. fill out form at police dept.prints ,then wait 1-2 months for licence. You can buy guns from private person and not register them Oregon is great about that.
