Handgun scope on 10-22

The eye relief is listed as 12" - 18".

So you would have to mount it nearly out on the rifles muzzle to get the proper eye relief to see through it.

The main problem with mounting a handgun scope on a rifle is that it has a rather long eye relief to it as the handgun would be held out at arms length. A rifle scope would have a relatively short amount of eye relief as it is positioned much closer to where your cheek rests on the rifle stock.

Thanks for the info. ( Not much hands on with handgun scopes myself)

So, if I get this right, the scope would not work over the 10-22's receiver, as the eye relief would not allow for this?

And for a handgun scope even a scout style would likely not be enough distance depending on where you like your cheek to sit on the stock. At best it would be very much at the minimum so some occlusion of the field of view would be expected.

So in a word? No.

A friend of mine was out shooting with us today, and had this scope mounted on his handgun...

He decided to stick with iron sights on this paticular handgun, and offered it to me.

The only thing I would want to put this optic on would be a 10-22.

If you have been wanting to get something like a Ruger Charger, but didn't want to pony up for another scope, then maybe this is your opportunity. ;)

:)Thanks all.

I'm strictly looking for a scope to mount over the receiver.

The charger is neat, but not looking at one for now.

The lightweight/compact size of this paticular scope caught my eye for such a thing.

Thanks again for the info.

I think you could accomplish this by putting one of the Tapco "Intrafuse" stocks on your rifle. They come with a forward rail that may be far away enough for a pistol scope.

Of course at that point you would be in for another $100 or so.
