I've got 3 handguns I want to use for silhouette shooting (at various distances, up to 500M maximum w/ a .308): Magnum Research 45-70 BFR, Desert Eagle 50AE, and a Mauser-action .308 18" set up like the old Remington XP-100's.
I'd like to use Weaver-type rails on all 3 guns and use only 1 scope for all three guns (with ARMS #22 detachable rings and 1" inserts).
I'm leaning towards a variable in 3x9 or 2x7. Which would you suggest and why? As to brands, I'll either go Burris or Leupold. I like the clarity of the Burris optics over the Leupold but does anyone have experience with either scope on heavier-recoiling handguns?
Thank you.
