The long-barreled Glock 24 in .40S&W. I was surprised to see five at LGS priced from $619 to $649. This would make excellent offensive/defensive weapon plus range toy. Just like 6" 10mm stainless revolver this gun offers much to any shooter.

Just to play the devil's advocate, what does the G24 do for the average shooter that the G22 does not?

Longer site radius? Higher velocities? Do they offer enough of an advantage to matter?

I do like the looks and would be even more interested if Glock offered such a barrel length in 10mm, especially if it were a SF model.

More slide mass and a more muzzle-heavy balance.... noticeably less muzzle flip. Especially fun in 9mm with hicap mags.

...and rather difficult to CC and draw with that long barrel.

BTW what exactly do you mean by 'offensive'? We're not the military or police.

The g24 would be like the g17L in that its to big for many compitition class so now the extra 1/2 of barrel and sight radius is not worth the much higher cost just for a novelty of the g24. It darn sure not a defensive pistol.
