Let's hear it for the short action cartridge that could and did for the past 100 years. You're no 30-06 but then again, nothing is. Here's to you!!!
I am proud of you , our heritage, our roots , are worth way more than a few bucks... pass'em down along with the stories about our father's to those that respect them , and feel like we do , we are rapidly becoming the forefathers ........take care........I, too, have a soft spot for the >300 Sav. Pop's first (and only) deer rifle was a 99 Sav in .300. I used it when I started hunting, and then found a similar in .308 with the tang safety. Both are still in the family. Here's to the .300!!
I am glad you reminded me, I ended up with a model 99 savage lever gun a couple years ago, long story short 40 years in the making ....haven't shot it yet, took it out of the safe , oiled it up , its gorgeous, pristine , kind of funny how things work out isn't it , tomorrow's the day , take out the family and tell them about the real life stories and history......of our families model 99.......Take care....and Happy New Year......Let's hear it for the short action cartridge that could and did for the past 100 years. The craftsmen back then truly built some quality rifles each and every one , I find them simply amazing all the little details .........Take care loonwulf and happy new year...BB....Still need to get a 300 Savage.
Guess I can get one now, pretty sure the bugs are worked out.
I'm pretty sure that R&D is still trying to make it faster than 30-06. We're just not paid by Savage anymore.Still need to get a 300 Savage.

Fair point LOLI'm pretty sure that R&D is still trying to make it faster than 30-06. We're just not paid by Savage anymore.
