Harris Bipod or other - Savage 10FCP

So, I know Harris bipods are good, but are they over rated?

Can I get an equally good bipod for say 1/3 to 1/2 less than a Harris?


Any recommendations for bipods (Harris or other) for a Savage 10 FCP?

Walmart carries a Remington labeled bipod for about $39 that looks an awful lot like the Harris. Maybe their patent ran out! Shooters Ridge also makes a look alike.

i don't know if it's cheaper, but a Versa Pod is a better bipod.

it's a more reasonably priced copy of the Parker Hale...which IMO is the best bipod on the market

Depends on the model, but Versa Pod prices are in the same range as Harris from what I've seen.

i really like my harris bipod. best advice i'd give is find a gently used one for half price. people often decide they prefer a size and want to offset the cost of a new one by selling that one.

no matter what price you end with on the harris though, you aren't compromising anything.

I can't find "made in China" on my Harris. These days the odds are 50-50!

From what I've read, Harris bipods are made in the USA.

That would certainly be a reason for me to buy one. Even if it costs more.

I bought a rifle with a stony point copy cat, and the Harris has much stronger springs. Get a Harris, or spend a bunch more for a better one.

For the Harris style bipods there are two different kinds of bipods: The Harris bipod and the knock-off's.

If you are satified with a knock-off, check the "airsoft" toy stores, they seem to be cheaper there than they are in gun stores.

my mate has a remington and it looks identical to the harris but the springs suck
