I have a Maadi Ak-47 and I was wondering what you guys would recommend for the best way to attach a harris bipod. The bayonet lug is ground off and I heard clamps to the barrel were generally a last resort. So if any of you know what is the best combination of attachments to get the job done without breaking the bank I'de be glad to hear from you. Oh and also while I'm at it, what would be a good type of harris bipod for that firearm usually with a 30rnd mag, size, type, etc. Thanks -Mark

Welcome aboard!

I'm thinking the easiest way to go would be the kind that clamp onto the barrel, near the muzzle. The one that comes with the Polish Tantal is a good example.

I suppose you could screw a regular sling swivel into the bottom handguard, then attach the Harris to it.

I'm sorry but I know practically nothing about the rifle and I dont want to mess up the installation. There is already a drilled hole in the lower handguard but how will I know if the swivel is the right size? Also, it's only probably a quarter inch deep. If there is a standard kind of swivel that will attach without any problems, I'de appreciate any feedback. I must sound like an idiot but this is my first rifle : / want to do it right after all.
