I'm fascinated by a pistol in .380 that has a capacity of 19 + 1 but don't want to buy one just because I'm curious about it.

So, does someone own one, either stainless or blued, who can post a photo with it alongside some other pistol - maybe a 5" 1911, or a Glock 19, or something so I can get an idea of how big the nasty thing really is?

I mean 18 ounces, forged slide and forged alloy frame? What could be better?

Bud's calls it a downsized 92 and I want to know downsized - how much?!?

that little pistol has me drooling. That's a great find krs! I can't believe there's a .380 that has that much capacity and still be flush fit!

hi EHL,

Yeah, the idea of so much capacity is very good but the pistol has GOT to be a chunky one.

That's why I was hoping for an owner to post up more info.

I'd never seen or even heard about this one before last night and I ran across it in Bud's by pure accident while looking for something else.

Looks to me like the only thing "downsized" is the slide and barrel. The rest is the standard 92/101 size, which is the same as the beretta. I have a PT101AF (.40) and it's been absolutely reliable apart from the pin holding the rear adjustable sight in.

Looks like a clone of a Beretta 84 series, but the barrel is shorter. Wonder what the grip thickness is

Yep, it looks like a Cheetah, a Beretta 84, but it's 5 oz. lighter and holds six more rounds. So this Taurus must use an alloy frame and have a longer but not necessarily thicker grip.

Very interesting IF Taurus alloy frames are worth having....

Isn't there even one member who has taken a chance on one of these Taurus 58's ? That capacity has got to be irresistable to someone (else). :)

I've wanted one for a long time but always thought they were a little expensive. I settled for a hi-cap double stack Bersa. I like the Taurus because it can be carried cocked and locked.

I've never seen anything but a picture of them. I own an original PT58S, the pre-decocker, 12 round magazine, version. It's been reliable as a stone, and is very accurate with ammo that it likes. 2"@25 yards. I do believe that the frame grip area isn't any thicker than the PT58, just longer, and the magazine has an extension on it, as well.:)

I think it looks great except that the barrel is too short for the grip length, so it looks funny to me. If it had a 4" or 4.25 inch barrel and was slightly shorter, maybe a fifteen or sixteen round magazine length, it would look better proportioned and probably balance a little better too.

Looks neat though.
