Has anybody made a cheap DIY press lighting system

I had some left over LED's that I used on my boat. I just attached them to the inside of the front post. Rand the wire down and to the back. Had a spare 12vdc power pack laying round. Before that I used the free HF light set in the center on top.

Has anybody made a cheap DIY press lighting system. Something along the lines of this https://www.amazon.com/Reloading-Press-Hornady-Single-Presses/dp/B01J6624L6

I'd love a small little light I could put up and see in the press better without spending a fortune or turning on a big bulky lamp.
I don't think $30 really qualifies as a fortune...especially for the quality of the product you're getting. 500 Lumens is a lot of light and the center ring is very clever

The KMS Squared UFO reloading press light kit is well thought out and include the best instruction I've seen in a while....the little touches they include really make the kit stand out

KMS Squared is a veteran owned company and David, the owner, offers great customer service

I got a Hornady one a cabelas just like your link but without the circle and I like it a lot. Had to zip tie it but works well. I paid under $20

My UFO replaced the Hornady light strip on my LNL. It was like the difference between High Noon on a clear day and Dusk
I cant use the UFO on a LCT. wish I could. The light strip does well for my LCT for pistol but cant see rifle powder but I trickle those anyways.

The Co-Ax is likely the best single stage press available.

The open design gives you unrestricted access to the case and offers the quickest die change. Both the die and shell holder float for optimal alignment

I have the skylight setup from Inline Farications and works really well but was very expensive for me here. If I have any issues with it or if I get another press I would absolutely put the UFO light on it and it is way cheaper as well.

Never seen a press like that before. Whats the purpose of that style?

9mm already mentioned the advantages of the Forster Co-Ax press so I won't repeat. There are only two things I don't like about the Co-Ax; it's slow to prime with plus you have to handle the primers by hand, and the handle sits forward of vertical when in the open position which means I have to reach for it. Priming is not an issue for me as I don't use the press for that, I use a Frankford Arsenal hand priming tool. Maybe I'll make my own curved handle someday, for now I'm OK, I've adapted to it.

It's also a relatively expensive press but I've discovered precision reloading is probably more expensive than a heroin addiction :(

I found that too when I first saw one.

The solution that I've seen used is to mount the press lower...and use the "short" handle

I'm stuck with the table height but I have found the Inline Fabrication short roller handle has made for less reach.

A fellow shooter on 65creedmoor.com offered to send me novel handle; it's a 2" wood ball with a dowel that sits flush with the top of the press arm. In other words, it's the dwarf of the short handles. I find the only step where the leverage of a longer handle is needed is full length sizing, at least for 6.5 Creedmoor brass.

$10 from Ikea.

The light fits flush with the top hole in the LnL AP so you can look down to ensure a proper powder drop before seating the bullet. Saved a primer-only squib a few times for me. Plus it bends around so it's not dedicated only to the press.

How about free? A flash light and c clamp I already had.

The KMS UFO lights I have are very bright though. I have 8 overhead lights in my reloading room and thought it was already well lit until I mounted them on one of my 550 and 650 presses, made it seem like I was reloading in the dark before.

I like your inspection mirror idea. Very clever.
