i am going to a gun show tomorrow presented by big al's. the flier says its 250 tablesm has anyone been to one his shows. what is everyones thoughts on it?

I went to that show today. To be honest, I'm not sure there were 50 tables. A little underwhelming.

I went there to buy primers and powder, but not one dealer was selling either. No reloading stuff at all, just a few odds and ends like a couple of oddball caliber dies.

Did manage to pick up a few boxes of ammo at what has become a reasonable price compared to the local gun stores. Found 4 boxes of .30 Carbine, the only Carbine ammo in the place, for $16 a box, down to $15 for taking all 4. Local stores want $25 a box.

Surprisingly, also found some brass for the .38-40, 30 pieces to be exact.

To show you how small the show was, there was only one jerky dealer. Can you imagine! As many knife dealers as gun dealers it seemed.

There was one dealer with a few full auto weapons, including a .50 machine gun for 24K, and a full auto Mini 14 for 6.5K. He also had an MP-40 and a Mac10.

I swore off gun shows the last time I went, but even though this one was small, I got a few items so I can't cry.

There's another one next week in Poughkeepsie, NY which is supposed to be bigger, but that's somewhat of a haul for me.

Any one else have thoughts on the show?

I was there as well.
It was 2 small rooms, not more then 50 tables from memory.
The WWII stuff was cool, but too many tables with knives and not enough guns.
One table each of , jerky, hot sauce, crystals and earrings, leather jackets.

One gun had the AR15 for $1250.00 and on the table behind him they had the AR lower shells for $250.00.

Like Speedo66 said, the full auto table was cool. There was a good selection of rifles and shot guns, the hand guns were not impressive.
I wasn't impressed with the pricing of the 12g ammo.

It was my first show, so I was happy to have gone. I got a kick out of the thunder wear gun holster.
My brother is convinced that most of the dealers are from out of state and didn't want to deal with the extra paper associated with the sales, if that makes any sense.

dominus, he had a fully assembled ar15 for only 125? do you remeber which table it was

When you walk in and pay that is one room. Go right through the door way and they are at the opposite corner. Yes it was fully assembled with the Knox stock and was the magazine accepting model for $1250.00. Enjoy.

P.s. its not called the sheraton inn, its Danbury Plaza Hotel. Name change happened a couple of weeks ago.

Big Al's gunshow

Went to the one in Cairo, NY (Friar Tuck Inn) with my son.
NOT worth the price of the ticket. Took us longer to get there than we stayed.
Went down to visit my oldest son and went to the Hampton,VA gunshow. We walked around there for 4 hours and I even found a magazine for an Astra .45 that I've been looking for for 5 months.
My youngest was amazed that people actually gad firearms strapped on and rifles on their shoulders.
WE'RE NOT IN NJ ANYMORE TOTO!
