Has anyone else Wax dipped their 22 ammo?

Some bulk ammo is waxed if it's not copper washed. CCI Blazer in bulk form has a wax lube on the outside of the bullet that you can see and feel. Same with the older Federal 525 bulk boxes. The new 525 boxes I've gotten recently were copper washed.

It was a few years back but I THINK that it was the Winchester 333 bulk that did not seem to have any lube on it. Mind you a thin enough coating of paraffin wax will not alter the colour of the lead so it could well have still been lubed but it wasn't enough to notice to the eye or feel.

There was a thread on another forum where they were dipping cheap bulk 22 ammo in liquid alox to prevent leading. I would think alox would make for a thinner coating than wax and would be more consistent.

Not all 22 ammo is properly lubed.
