Has anyone ever had their CCW exposed?

Unless you live in or visit Portland or Beaverton, both of which have city ordinances effectively outlawing OC. Sounds like you're lucky enough to live in a saner part of the state - I grew up in NEO and open carrying won't even get you a second look there.

This is untrue. A CHL exempts you from Portland and Beaverton's loaded carry ban.

See ORS 166.173.

I am not old enough to conceal carry, but once I was at a local gun store and a large man bent over to grab something and in my head swivel to see the movement, in the small of his back, an unholstered revolver hanging out of his pants. It was akward, but I didn't say anything...

Once on a trip to AZ we got stopped at Hoover Dam because I have a tonneau cover on my truck and they had to "inspect". I opened it for the (very bored) officer and while closing it the wind blew my shirt back. "Are you carrying a firearm?" he asked. "Yep", and pulled out my permit. He never moved or acted concerned. Then he asked me "what I did" and thought knifemaking was pretty cool. :)

Then in a Phoenix pet store I bent waaaaaaay down to pet puppies in an enclosure and the kid working there asked me if I was carrying. Dang, twice in one trip! He just wanted to see what I carried and liked my Kimber. :)

Yah, I never "got that." Is it just to get the butterflies out of you for the first time? I mean, its concealed, so what's the big deal?

Exactly, it is like a shakedown experience, going to a crowd of people and feeling like or at least wondering if people somehow know you are carrying.

Umm, you don't really have to do it D94R, what with you already open carrying. It sounds to me like it doesn't matter anyway to you..

Even when I'm 'concealing', I usually have an inch or two of holster showing below my shirt. I can't remember a time anybody noticed it like that.

Even when I'm carrying open, it's far from being much of an attention getter.

I live in Hillsboro and carry in Beaverton and Portland all the time. which is legal with a CHL.

most people are clueless of what's around them. I carry concealed with an OWB holster. I find the IWB's to be very uncomfortable to me. To the trained eye, one could probably tell i conceal, to the average joe - you would never know.

People OC and no one notices....

My sister-in-law dropped in unexpectedly when I was getting ready to head out and I had my .38 in my paddle OWB (wearing a very loose, untucked shirt. We usually greet with a hug and I try to keep my right arm down such that the weapon can't be felt. Well, this time she greeted me with our usual hug and felt the firearm. She asked what the heck it was and I told her exactly what it was. After a moment's thought, she asked me if it was really necessary to carry, and when I said "yes", she then thought some more and asked me if I thought she should carry as well. What followed was a nice talk about CCW classes and alternatives.

Lots of people have noticed mine. I carry open/concealed. My pistol is generally on a belt holster. If I have a coat on its concealed, but when the coat is off, obviously, it can be seen. No one really cares in Alaska.

I've never been spotted, that I know of. But, in this day and age, wouldn't you think that most people know that CCW permits are pretty common? The deputy that processed my application told me about lots of everyday folks from all walks of life that had them (no names, of course). Said I'd be amazed how many teachers and ministers carried.

I used to be so paranoid about printing that I would pull my belt so tight that my legs would go to sleep. One day while I was in the line at a store I was horrified when a little girl <8yo behind me put her finger on it and said "mommy what's that?" My shirt had pulled up some time while I was shopping! My heart started beating again when the mom said "it's a telephone, honey, leave it alone"
Just last week I was trying on some pants at a department store (at my wife's request) and as I was putting my pants back on the holster flipped over and out-she-came. It never left my stall but the person in the next changing room got awful still for a second and then quickly left. I never saw who it was but my wife said he threw his stuff on the rack and left while watching the changing room area door. If he was that freaked, I wish he would have told my wife "there's a nut with a gun getting suited up for terror."

So far I've never had a problem. Normally I wear a henley type shirt and a fleece vest. Even in the summer, since contrary to the algore hysteria, our summers have been getting cooler. Whenever I get out of my vehicle I immediately pull my vest down to ensure everything is properly covered. As for losing firearms and mags, I've never had that happen. My primary firearm is a Glock 23 that rides in a clip on Rocketman holster. It is an excellent holster that has never started to ride up and it hugs my side, so it has a very low profile. Even though I've been carrying for years, I'm conscious about the entire time I'm out of the house.

I got "busted" by my wife's girlfriend at a party. She's short so she tends to give people hugs a little lower than normal. It was kinda funny to see her eyes get big when she realized what she was hugging. She was about to say something when I had to give her the SSSHHhhhh sign. From then on she tries to figure out whether I am carrying or not just by looking.
