Just wanted to know how the triggers compared. I have the SP2022 on layaway at local shop but haven't shot it yet. I shot the P226 for the first time today and it was a dream. The trigger was so buttery smooth. How does the SP2022 trigger compare to the P226's trigger?

What about the recoil as well? Does the SP2022 have more, less, or equal recoil with the 226?

I have both.

Recoil i think is the same
Girth/Grip i feel is the same
Quality i feel is the same
Accuracy gets a slight bump to the 226 from my experiences
Trigger quality is better on the 226. The 2022 isn't bad at all, in fact i feel it is very underrated and often overlooked but the 226 IMO has the better trigger.

Both are a little chubby for CCW/CHL
Aftermarket mods highly favor the 226

I have never had problems with either and according to my spreadsheet, i have 6,820rds through my 2022 and 4,150 though my 226.

The reason my 2022 has more is only because i had it longer. IMO you can't go wrong with either but the 226 is worth the extra money.

Love em' both though.

I can compare the P226 and SP2009 (earlier model of SP2022).

Recoil - not a lot of difference.
Balance - SP2009 seemed more top/front heavy.
Accuracy - about the same.
Trigger - P226 was marginally better in SA; SP2009 was clearly better in DA.
Grips - about the same size, but shaped differently and resulted in a very different feel.

With the SP2022 recently available for about half of the price of a P226, it is a tremendous bargain.

I've owned both and still have my P226. She's the sweetheart of the Sig pistol line. Balanced perfectly, accurate, and all but indestructible. I think Sig did very well on their polymer pistol but the 226 is my favorite by far. Paid right at $1K for mine and it's worth every penny.
