Has anyone used the Pager Pal Concealed Holsters?

The quality of construction is pretty crude. I have one that carries a folding knife outside(I use a Swiss Army so to not alert the sheeple) and a med auto/small revolver. I carry a 1903 Colt or a Model 51 Remington .380 in it or a Colt Agent. It is good if an outer garment can't be worn, but is not a 24/7 affair to be sure! More like a yuppie affair rig!;)

I made my own after looking at one at a gun show. Carried my then "always" gun, a Walther TPH in it for quite a while. It was comfortable and convenient. My daughter now uses it (and my old TPH).

To answer your questions, it depends.

Depends on your body type, and the size of the gun you want to carry. If possible, check one out at a gun show where you can try it on with a dummy weapon to check its fit and comfort. Don't forget to sit down with it on.

Mmm. I wonder if I could use my old cell phone holster?

I hope that doesn't sound stupid, but maybe it'd work for a Firestorm .32 or .380 or Walther PPK/s.

It won't cost me anything to try.

 I don't like that it carries below the waistline, because if it's riding on the front of your thigh it's going to go slap slap slap every time you walk. And if carried in back you can't sit down cuz it's riding on your arse.

I took off the pager and put on my cell phone belt clip and carried a Bersa T380 for a couple years, looked like a fat guy with a cellphone. It works better if you wear jeans or the like not good for lite weight clothes as after sitting for a while and you stand up it looks like you have a banana in your pocket. Now I know why the women always smiled at me when I wore it.

...you stand up it looks like you have a banana in your pocket. Now I know why the women always smiled at me when I wore it.

Or were you just happy to see them?

.

I've got one.
Problem is, doesn't really fit my Kimber Ultra Carry II.
Need a very small gun, and, the glass case, and pager, look either like they were made by someone that makes holsters, or just really fake in general. For example, I wear glasses, and none I have fit in the glasses case.

It's almost like the accessories are designed to let LEO's KNOW you are carrying, because they look so fake.
Not very comfortable, either.

I'd look at what used to Thunderwear...

S

I had 2, for a Kahr P40 & a 3" S&W model 60. Never wore either more than 2 times. Were very uncomfortable either in front of or behind hip, and left a huge bulge that made it look like I had a tumor. Of course, I'm 6', 160 (145 at the time, wife can COOK!), so that may have something to do with it.

I never tried one - only because I've seen posts similar to this in the past, usually with the same type responses.

I have the impression that they don't work well.

I have a Belt Pal that has sat in my dead holster box for about 10 years!!
My gripe is that spare mag pouch that sits foward of the actual holster.
It is in the wrong tactical spot!!!

I may press it into service though!!
It seems to fit my Walther P5!!!
As many of you well know, holsters for that particular gun are few and far between and usually expensive when they CAN be found!!

Its not the most comfortable thing. I carried a Kahr T9 in mine and It just didnt carry the weight of the weapon. I think a small lightweight pistol is in order. Im not throwing it out yet but so far I dont like it. BTW they recomend wearing empty for a few days...Its great empty. Anyway the salesman told me that some people tell him Its uncomfortable he said getting shot in the ass is uncomfortable...I bought it.

Wow RUBZERK! You have too much time on your hands.

Of course here I am going through every link you posted. Neat stuff.

Pagerpal is out of business and I just learned it the hard way. I picked up one of their products at a show this weekend and already do not like it. I tried to contact them to get some instruction and find that their website and 800 number are gone! As they say caveat emptor. What a bunch of shysters!

Mine works but isn't perfect

I've used a PagerPal for years now and it's served me well enough. I use it when I can't use IWB or OWB holsters for my Glock. It's all about concealment, not fast draw but it's there when you need it. I carry a Leatherman tool in the outside pouch. I also have the fake pager and glasses case but don't use them.

I'm surprised to see that PagerPal has been sold but somebody will continue selling the products. If they're listening, I'd suggest using heavier leather molded to specific handguns instead of using light-weight one-size-fits-all. I never fitted my Glock to the holster so it's a generic fit. Also, use a leather strap connecting the holster to the external pouch rather than the heavy metal clip that tilts the weapon outward, making it more visible. This clip has damaged several of my fine leather belts.

Before PagerPal existed, I bought similar holsters constructed with a leather strap and they are still serving me well. The problem is that the other business closed and the holsters that I have are only fitted to J-frame revolvers or a Grendel .380 pistol. The leather strap is more comfortable, allows the weapon to stay against the leg and draws smoothly. I'd be willing to send this holster to you if you'd like to consider the design. I also have their catalog to show the design features.

blinkin,

If you have any pictures to post how you use your pagerpal I would appreciate it. I bought mine without a clip assuming I would use it with my cell phone clip. Well, that didn't work. Once I really started trying I saw that the cell clip only works on a belt, not the belt plus waistband material. Perhaps if there is a better way to hang it from the belt it might still work.

I have a smartcarry that conceals well with the right clothes. The only problem is the tightness of the strap hurts my hips after awhile. I was hoping the pagerpal would hang in the same position but use the belt as support instead of a tight strap around my hips. So far any position I put it in seems to create too much bulge.

Otherwise this left-hand pagerpal will be going up on the for sale board soon.

thanks

I agree with AZ. It doesn't fit my body type, it's impossible to get at the gun quickly....

Plain old IWB does better at concealment too.

Like the others I used it once or twice. Wasn't impressed. It now sits in a drawer with the multitude of other holsters I seem to have collected.

ya, I bought one...and NEVER used it. Total POS, uncomfortable, hard to draw from, looks like you have an addiction to viagra if you wear slacks.

So to sum this up NO, not just no...HELL NO, as in if you mean like never ever in a million years, money would have been better spent sending it to the brady's no...

looks like you have an addiction to viagra if you wear slacks

ROTFLMFHO!!!!

Actually, in my case, it just looked like I should change my name to "Sarah", as in "Abraham and...." because I am way too old to look that pregnant :neener:

Nice list Rubzerk!

I personally would not recommend a "pager pal" as everyone knows what they are.... and your firearm sits crooked and can be uncomfortable. The only "cool thing doodad" I have seen that looks effective is thunderwear but never actually suited up with it.

But then again its all about preference and I like a Don Hum pocket holster.

:)
