Have just 1 or a few guns for ccw

This so depends on what I am wearing. In general, I carry a 1911A1 in my right front pocket. Yes, I am a large man and have pants with big pockets. On some of my dress pants, the pockets are a little smaller, and so I will carry a CZ52. I have also been known to stick guns like a S&W M&P (K frame) in those pockets. If I am going somewhere that I worry about people getting upset about a gun, I will stick either a Walther PP or a PA63 or a HSC in my pocket. In general, I don't need to go below those guns for deep concealment, one of the few advantages of being bigger than 95% of the population.

I would assume that it is best to just chose one gun for ccw and stick with it that way you become totally comfortable with it.

My dad told me not to ass u me. How much shooting does one need to do before he can pick up any gun and shoot it well? Because, I say you need to do that much shooting.

I mainly carry Glocks. Simple to work and they work. But, the biggest reason is that I like that I can have 16 rounds of 10 mm ammo in each gun. If I thought one round would always work, I'd carry my .500.

Well, as others have said, it depends.

Personally, I have 5 I select from, depending on the usual conditions. And no, they really don't have much in common. One is a revolver (642), the others different semi-autos in a variety of size, caliber, and operating procedure, not to mention manner or carrying.

But like CWL said, it depends on your level of experience. I'm comfortable with mine, and I make sure to stay familiar with each of my different carry guns.

I rotate between three:

1) Kel-tec P3AT to the gym because it's ultralight for treadmill.
2) 340PD for a quick jaunt to somewhere or at work because it's small.
3) Commander-size 1911 for going out for the day or evening

and a FIE Titan II always below the car seat because it's cheap.

My primary carry is a Glock 19.

I use a Keltec p32 on days where all I need is a knife, or pocket carry only. I can hit a perfect headshot at 15 yards on my targets with the p32, if I throw it well.

Nights out where I can wear a jacket or heavier clothing I carry a fullsize 1911 like a Kimber TLE or CDP.

I practice alot with the Glock and Kimber so the transition between the two deosn't matter. If you practice enough then there is no harm in having more than one carry weapon.

Several variables affect what I might carry. But it'll be between:
SP101
G26
NAA 22mag
S&W 638

The 638 gets the nod most of the time.

The comparisons to one's significant other are hard to pass up here. One should certainly suffice. And life would be much simpler and safer that way.

Unfortunately variety holds a certain appeal, doesn't it?

I WISH I could just have 2-3 carry guns... Unfortunately, I spend a lot of time in places where I'm legally allowed to carry a gun, but there's an anti-gun policy in place. If I didn't have to go to those places, I'd probably just have three carry guns; a J-frame BUG, a big one for CC, and a big show-off gun for BBQs, open carry, etc.

Nevertheless, I carry the biggest gun I can. So I have:

Work gun (small)
Work BUG (small)
Warm-weather school gun (small)
Warm weather school BUG (small)
Jacket on-and-off school gun (med.)
Cold weather school gun (big)
Warm weather free-time gun (med.)
Colt weather free-time gun (Really big)
Open carry free-time gun (Really big & good-lookin') :)

I never realized it was this complicated until just now... :uhoh:

I have a few revolvers that I carry. I use my 442 for work. I do landscape maintenance, so I get pretty dirty, and the 442 is really easy to clean. A revolver with an exposed hammer gets filthy after a day on the job with me.

My 2.5" S&W 19 is my cooler weather gun, and my 442 or 360 is my pocket carry church gun/pastor protector.
