I have to return both my kel-tec p3at (busted hammer spring) and my Kahr CW40 (Somehow it's breaking pieces off the mag follower) this week for work.

This leaves me unarmed outside of my home, but I am thinking of picking up something small just for the couple of weeks I will be without them. I think I can pick up a Taurus 85, used kel-tec (sort of losing faith in them), old colt detective snubby, or there is a remote possibility of getting a NAA guardian in .32. All of them will be around $200. Which would you choose, and why?

i suggest that you stop buying small and you get something that is gonna contnually be reliable and not something that you are gonna have to send back, ie sa xd, glock etc.

I have bigger guns, but really can't carry a big guns to work. Even the kahr is too big for work, which is why I got the p3at. Until the spring breaking (which nobody on the Ktog board has ever heard of), the kel tec was 100% reliable. Been running even better since I got the EEZOX lube for it.

Why not just replace the spring yourself?

Shipped from midway it'd be there in a couple of days and only cost you a few $$...?

I looked around, but couldn't find the right spring. Midway doesn't even have any kel-tec parts from what I could see.

blarelli? The hammer spring broke on my P32, and I called the company, and I had it in two days by uspo, at no charge. It took less than ten minutes to install. maybe you should call keltec?

10 minutes? Dang, I do believe I am going to ask them to send out the part. Thanks

Well, I have a Taurus 85 that I love to death now, but I didn't trust my life to it until I'd had it for a few weeks. Carried it while mowing my property, got it covered with sweat and mud, intentionally dropped it in the dirt, then fired it with various loads. 2 years later, that cheap lttle revolver is still my best li'l buddy.
