I'VE ALREADY TOLD YOU GUYS ONCE!

What Temperament?

(poking pc screen with finger) What are you saying? Are you saying I'm violent?

VIOLENT? ME??? V I O L E N T? HAH!

(pacing floor) HOW CAN YOU SAY I'M VIOLENT? ME? EVERYONE KNOWS I'M A NICE GUY, GOT THAT!!!

(kicking PC table).. ME.. ME VIOLENT?

(clinching fist) NO, NO I AM NOT VIOLENT, GOT THAT????? HUH?

YOU WANNA FIGHT?

The nerve of some people to accuse me of being violent!

Deaf

No, I have a terrible temper and I never considered shooting anyone unless my life or my wife were in danger.

Uh, no.

If I thought for one second that I had a problem with controlling my emotions, I would voluntarily stop carrying.

It takes a whole lot to push me over the edge, but when I lose it, it never gets physical, never has. I say my piece, and that's the end of it.

My side arm is for self defense, and only self defense, it's not a tool to express my anger.

Also of mention, is road rage. I will not, under any circumstances engage someone who is road raged. I simply don't understand that type of anger, it has no place in my life.

IMHO, anyone who can't trust their self with a weapon when they get angry, is someone that shouldn't be carrying in the first place, the two don't go together.

I voted no

I'm one of those people who is generally in a good mood. Heck, I'm usually in a good mood 'cause I go punch some paper from time to time! If the liberals would learn this pressure relief valve they would be a less stressed out and a heckava more relaxed.

The mental health issue is definitely complex. I would like to know just how many of the recent mass shooters were on some kind of med for behavior modification such as depression or anxiety. You hear the list of disclaimers at the end of those commercials and have to wonder if the treatment is worse than the condition.

Really consider leaving the response if it is YES

This is something a fella - or gal - would really not want in an electronic record "if and when"...

That's like saying I wonder if mess for erectile dysfunction are worse then the disease! In all seriousness, don't most medications advertised these days have scarier disclaimers then the actual condition?

I'll roger that, with an added twist. About the time I started carrying virtually full time, I also have a "passenger" in my car ...... my first puppy in 57 years.

I now drive a bit less aggressively, knowing that she's more vulnerable in a crash than I am.
I can't imagine life without her, and know she depends on me to keep her safe. Although, If you broke into my car, or attacked me, she'd be likely to lick you to death.....such is the friendliness of a Lab. I may have to get her a companion....like a German Shepard with protective instincts :)

Look around. There have been corroborating articles/data on your question. The answer ain't vague.

I pretty much already knew the answer. Medicine is an art based off of scientific research. Art is only as good as the person holding the brush. Much of mental illness goes undiagnosed and then much that is gets misdiagnosed or improperly treated by Drs that think a pill will take care of everything.

The thing that changed when I started carrying was me. Road rage is a thing of the past. I'm quick to apologize and way more patient than ever before. Frankly, I like the changes and they were overdue.

used to carry a bit around this holiday season due to all the killings and road rage relate d issues. I WAS calm and well behaved , the other drivers--NOT

then I started thinking about my NRA safety instructors discussing how we could end up in jail.. get sued... for defending ourselves because of the laws of the land and the greed of attorneys these days. With my luck ,even though a thug woul d have had intent, ability an d opportunity.. my butt would be in prison AND somehow I would get sued by the thugs family for defending myself-- a perfect storm of bad luck.

besides I do not have the required training(in my opinion) to carry and use a gun on the street--too many bad things may come of it

so I decided to leave the gun at home unless I am going to the range. I feel confident in my ability to defend my family if my home was invaded. That is enough for me.

in t hinking about this though, I wonder if anyone has the facts on the # of street crimes thwarted by legal ccw owners yearly? or the # of times ccw holders even need their weapons on the street vs using them at home?

happy holidays and stay safe

Every monthly issue, the NRA publications American Hunter and American Rifleman run a column called The Armed Citizen.

Usually they will recount 5 or 6 incidents every issue about citizens defending themselves by use of firearms in the home, on the street or in their vehicles.

Some are CCW holders, some are not.
