I have only once, in the trunk of a Chevelle SS I bought for parts back when I was about 17 in 1975. I used the right front fender on my SS, and the right door, and when looking through the trunk, I came across a little S&W Pocket .32 revolver that was nickel plated high polished and has pearl grips on it. It was an old break top. I never tried to find ammo for it or shot it.

I have not but my brother did several years ago in an old rent house.
It was some sort of German .25 Auto.

@ sniper X I wish I had a chevelle SS Its on the list of dream cars Ill prolly never have anyways Ive found 3 in my short 20 years of life, I found a Ruger Mark II that had been stolen in one of our family's fields that somebody threw out a car window the night before and my grandfathers Winchester 97 in the old farm house along with his GI M1911A1 he carried across Europe and I still have those two

When I was about 12 I found a S&W 357 along side of a railroad track. I was
the only kid in the neighborhood with a .357.

Yes, a .22LR and a single shot 12 gage, called the RCMP and they picked them up, turns out someone stole them and threw them into an empty lot, the firearms were nasty, the weather was not kind to them.

Well, I hid my security six so well in my home once before going on vacation that it took me a year to find it. ;)

Guy at work bought a house from the estate of a gent that didn't have any close relations living. Found behind the dryer behind a removable section of paneling was a 1911 and a couple other firearms.

Guy wondered if it was right to keep them, my vote was you bought the home with all contents remaining and all problems you may not have noticed at the start but find later.

Clutch

Found one on the side of a house while working. I do housing I inspections for the city. It was actually used in a shooting and was dumped there. They pulled prints off it and ended up catching the guy.

I also found one pointed at my face when I was doing an inspection on a vacant house and the squatter didn't appreciate my being there. Its a long story, but he ended up leaving on a stretcher.

I found an HSc my dad brought back and hid in our old farmhouse before he died.
It had a broken firing pin which I replaced.
Neat little pistol.

I found a revolver in a forest when I was YOUNG. I told my dad and he called the cops to come get it just in case. In NY you don't just find guns lying around.

I found a couple rusted up German Lugers digging in a old house foundation that had burnt down years ago. Found a rifle when I was a kid along the highway while riding bikes. (It was presumed to be stolen.) Found a 9mm last year in a motel room. I reported it to the police since I assumed it to be a crime gun. They didn't want it as the "crime" was months prior to that.

When I was a kid, my friend and I were deer hunting with his granddad and some of his friends. While walking around, we found a Marlin .30-30 lever action. Looked like it was brand new, and there was no-one around. We took it back to the cabin his granddad owned, but one of the adults claimed the rifle as we were considered too young to own it.

I found a Tec 9 on my back patio once. I called the police and they came and got it. Pretty sure it was used to rob the corner gas station a few days earlier but I never heard back on it.

Usually found some when raiding drug or liquor houses. Just laying around on the floor and didn't belong to anyone there. They all swore to it. Literally stumbled over a dozen long guns while rabbit hunting several years ago. They had been stolen from a residence about a quarter mile away some 6 months before. They were returned to the owner but were ruined by exposure.

2 my great grampas break over 44-40 in the old barn. Then when i was like 12 i found a revolver in 32 acp in a abandoned house while my dad and i were metal detecting. That one my dad gave over to the cops.

I was working on a laptop for a customer and was surprised to find an old S&W 38 special revolver in the bag. The owner said it belonged to his police father in the 1940s.

When I was in college, maybe about 21 at the time, I burned down a treestump that was in the yard of the guy's house I was staying at (he told me I could, don't go there), When everything was said and done, I was kicking around in the remains and found a small pistol, probably a .32, but I did not know much about guns at the time. The serial number was filed off and I was afraid to call the police or take it to them (I used to be paranoid, and I was in Illinois) so I hid it and later gave it to a friend of mine who was a soldier. From what I remember he cleaned it up and was trying to repair it. The gun was not functional when I found it, the slide was jammed shut. Probably not the best course of action, now days I would report it to the police. If not for the serial number being destroyed I would ask them if I could keep it after the investigation. Good conversation piece.

As exciting as it'd be to find a gun, I live near Detroit, so 9 times outta 10 it would have been a "throw away".
I do have a friend who flips foreclosures, and he mentioned finding some sort of rifle in one. He said it was completely destroyed, though. Apparently the basement was full of junk, and he found it under a bunch of crap, basically in pieces.
He finds some cool stuff, too. Old guitars, rare car parts/memorabilia, etc.

Our local Volunteer Fire Department found dozens of antique and classic firearms hidden in the walls of an abandoned domicile... ...well the smoldering remains of them after the house was burned in a training exercise... Kinda deflated the sense of accomplishment in the end. Bad day.

Sadly, no. The closest I've come is finding a couple boxes of 12ga shells in a small RV on some property I bought. Also found an old Milwaukee Sawzall in the thing - it's all steel and weighs a ton, but sure runs well...
