Have you ever noticed that whenever you find a gun at a fair price and did not out and out steal it, then post your buy, you always get the one guy who says, he got a better deal and if you just wait you can find a better gun. Its like the guy who always got the better buy no matter even if you were given something. LMAO.

In some cases, yeah someone is getting a much lower price. Usually these patrons are long time customers of a gun store or the shop has a very steep LEO/MIL discount.

I've traded stuff that was worth more than the 'value' of what I got in retrun
I got rid of something I wasn't really attached to, for something I wanted

And I've done the reverse, I traded a CZ82, for an early Spanish automatic... That I got 2 other guns, each probably worth what I paid for the 82, is besides the point, I wanted that Spanish pistol, he wanted a higher capacity, reliable, and pleasant to shoot auto. We both were happy.

Some people take oneupmanship to a whole new level. They are the same types that claim their car is faster, they can shoot better, they can drink more liquor, etc. If you got a reasonable deal on the gun, and like it, that's all that matters. Some people get too hung up on saving $40 or $50 bucks on a gun by buying from the lowest online retailer, but after shipping and transfer fees they spent just as much as the local gun shop.

What they said. There are some really smoking deals to be had on the net, but when you figure in shipping and transfer fees, the price isn't quite as good. But when we leave out the shipping and transfer costs, it makes it sound like the deal was great, when in reality it was simply good.

An unfortunate few out there become "KEYBOARD COWBOYS" and hide behind their computers and try to upset others with their lack of wit.

It is how you see the post, you can let it hurt or find the humor in it.

There seems to be a lot of folks out there (particularly on the net) that revel in Schadenfreude ... even if they have to make things up to make you feel like you got a bad deal. Meh. You get the best deal if you're happy at the end of the day - that's all that matters. Simple insecurity on their part.

Everything I've gotten as far as guns go, I got for a fair price. I saw what I wanted, and paid what I was willing to pay. That makes it a fair price.

Most will appreciate in value anyway, so I will have likely made out ahead at some point.

I probably do pay a little more for my guns... but I purchase all of them (so far) from one gun shop.

As a result, he will order guns I'm not quite committed to buying so I can thoroughly check them out. This, in my opinion, gets me bigger bragging rights than a better price.

The people that claim to always get the best deal might be telling the truth. Picture the owner of the gun shop that tells the gun shop groupie that he will take $50.00 off the price of a given gun if the groupie will promise not to come back until he is ready to purchase another gun.
