It seems i'm in a premium ammo buying frenzy.
I stopped by my old LGS because I was in my old town for a kid's bball game. They had much sought after 135 grain +P .38 special gold dot. I've never seen it in store, and it's hard to find online.
So.. I bought it.

Yesterday a buddy and I were crusing gunshops and I found a 500ct box of Sierra .224 Blitzking bullets for a pre-pandemic price.
Today I ordered a Glock 19 from an out of state BassPro Shop to be shipped to our closest store. It was on sale for about $100 off.

Ruger Police Service Six. Looks like she was carried a lot but not shot a whole lot. I'll clean her up a bit, no doubt will make a great shooter. Has "Made in the 200th year of freedom" Factory engraved on the side panel. Looks like she's served well for almost half a century and with some TLC a long time after.

Yes- 2 boxes of Winchester 243 power points and 2 boxes of Norma 308 soft points at Academy sports- now that deer season is over, ammo is in, so I'm buying for next year. Grand total- $15.00. For 80 rounds of not even premium hunting ammo in very standard chamberings.

Went to Fremont, NE Gun Show yesterday. Bought two guns.
An 1891 Argentine Mauser carbine. I already have the rifle version. Very nice shape, not terribly costly.
An M1905 FN pistol (.25 ACP). I have an M1908 Colt Vest Pocket pistol. The two pistols are identical (except for manufacturer's name, the legend on the grips and the FN appears to have thinner - by just a little - grips). Seems to be the only time in history that two companies made the same product, using patents of one man. (The deal was J. M. Browning sold patents to both FN and Colt; Colt could only produce and sell the objects in the United States (possibly the Western Hemisphere) while FN was limited to Europe (possibly the Eastern Hemisphere. I doubt if any such 'deal' exists in such general terms today.)
Would have bought a gewehr 98 (the long barreled, 'roller coaster' rear sight edition) from WWI except someone beat me to the table. Such is life.
