Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Bought a rifle barrel of Ebay.....turns out its m25x1.5mm thread pattern....for which there are no currently threaded receivers (AFAIK)......If anyone has an old Sako I have a barrel for you LOL.

also just ordered all the stuff I need for my new r95 from midway!

Ignore this overall rifle.
Ordered the ribbed —hand guards:scrutiny: seen here— in the StG-58 FAL style, used on the Austrian and German FALs.

Note, these hand guards don't come with a bipod. That's what you see here on the forward, lower area.

They sure look good. I had a new set of old type, they went to a collector.
You can find the used, repainted ones (often textured) pretty cheap.

Unfortunately, while the metal handguards look great, they feel like crap to me.
The plastic reg ones feel way better.

I do however like the look and feel of the StG58 straight comb buttstock. Doesn't bash em at all.

Well, after multiple emails from DACK Outdoors telling me "Your order is now processing," they appear to have canceled my order without notice or explanation. Saw the credit on my card statement. I know from experience they can be slow, but they've always delivered before.

So I had to place a new order today with a different supplier for a Midwest Industries folding front sight for my AR pistol build. Fingers crossed.

A word of advice: due to Postal Money Orders (with expedited $9.00 service+"tracking") now requiring an unknown number of days or weeks to reach a seller, my suggestion is for sellers to have an electronic payment system if no credit card system is possible.
The gent who sold me the StG on Imbel FAL (rifle) is waiting a number of days past the normal arrival date for so-called expedited mail.
Tracking, to use the phrase very loosely, finally shows it "in Phoenix". At least that is progress.

I'm aware of the drawbacks of PayPal and other 'policy' ;) reasons not to use them (as if PayPal even cares...), but you often will wait much longer on the US Postal System to send you your Postal money order checks with no idea when they will arrive.
Just sayin', if that's the current phrase.
