A while back, I picked up a 525rd brick of Remington Golden Bullet HP .22lr for ~$9.50, and I've hardly ever (knock on wood) had problems with .22 ammo in my Marlin 60 except for this brand/type. I'm getting FTFs, FTEs, and on occasion a FTF with a partial extract with the casing dented rather harshly.
I'm hoping it's not the Marlin... I keep that sucker clean (as with all my guns), so that's probably not the case. I've run PMC, Federal, and a couple other companies through it on previous occasions, with few/no problems at all. Anyone else run into this?
Also, my SAR-1 is having some problems with jamming, a problem I thought AKMs were immune to. Everything'll fire fine, but when things begin to heat up, this is what happens:
Scenario A:
Empty case is extracted; instead of flying off to the right, case is ejected into the action and comes to rest just above the left feed lip of the magazine. Gun jams. I .
Scenario B:
Empty case is extracted and flies off to the right. New cartrige is only chambered 1/2 way. I .
Scenario C:
Empty case is extracted; ends up inside the action, but facing laterally (usually with the primer end facing out the ejection port). New round is partially stripped off the mag, but jammed into the base of the feed ramp; it's alrady caught on the extractor. When I pull back on the bolt handle, the empty case drops out of the gun, but the live round somehow gets trapped back by the fire control group. I then and :banghead: .
Like I stated earlier, I keep 'em clean, so it shouldn't be that (unless I'm somehow doing a really bad job of cleaning). What gives?
P.S. Mods, if this belongs in the Rifle forum, please move it there... I figure this as an ammo problem...
