The number Nine is the preferred nomenclature in todays culture.

As in: "Izz gonna cap yoazz wid my 9 if yo aint quit dissing me!"

I see it as a shrewd marketing move by Remington to cater to todays most prolific 9mm ammo buyers.

Next year, the .40 S&W headstamp will be changed to R-P FO-TAY!

The only thing I can think of is the common usage of the term "9 Luger". At least you know it's not 9x18, 9x21, 9x23, 9mm Largo, 9x25, etc.

they change all the headstamps periodically, either in spacing or in lettering, it keeps track of age of the brass. I have RP 9mil stuff that has all sorts of different markings on it.

What I hate is when they change headstamps and magically the brass picks up an average 5 grains in weight (22-250).

Now I have like 10 different headstamps and weight classes...argggg...why can't it all just be simple!
