Hearing protection act

I'd love to see them booted from NFA, but don't believe they should be classified as a firearm of any type. I can buy a lawnmower muffler in a blister pack hanging on the rack at the hardware store.... a gun muffler shouldn't be treated differently.

I've always felt that the health angle was the way to go on this. This is one instance where we can use the "they do it this way in Europe" argument to our benefit.

That is my thought as well. Suppressors should just be another accessory no different than a muzzle brake or flash suppressor.

Sent to my house rep even though she's not on our side.

I am writing to urge you to SUPPORT the proposed Hearing Protection Act (H.R. 3799) currently being considered. This act would reduce noise pollution, stimulate the economy, add jobs in Maine, and reduce the already low frequency of unintended hearing damage. This Bill would regulate noise suppressors just like firearms and require a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check on each one sold. These items are glorified car mufflers and vetting potential buyers through the NICS system is more than sufficient to keep us all safe and prosperous. Please SUPPORT H.R. 3799.

personally i would like to see ALL guns removed from the NFA.., but, sadly that will not happen due to those selfish individuals and corporations who own and keep those $15,000.00 to $20,000.00 select fire guns.

This is a horrid thing to say about your fellow gun owners, and shows gross ignorance of the mechanics of the laws in play.

It also is grossly inaccurate since the majority of machinegun owners on their forums agree that they'd take the financial loss to get to new firearms.

I've spent a lot of time at machine gun shoots. The folks there are overwhelmingly for having access to new select fire and full auto machine guns.
