Gun Law Update - The Heller Case

Supreme Court Gun Cases
June 25, 2008

Chief Justice John Roberts announced less than an hour ago that the Supreme Court would release its three remaining decisions tomorrow, Thu., 6/26/08, beginning at 10 a.m., Eastern time.

This includes D.C. v. Heller, the Washington, D.C. gun-ban case that is examining the meaning of the Second Amendment, and whether a complete ban on any operable gun in a private home violates the constitutional rights of individual citizens.

I plan to have a quick review of the highlights of the case within three hours of its release. A more detailed review is planned before the end of June.

Who are these jokers? Lance Ito x 9?

Seems like they went for maximum drama.:)

Maybe that's just my clouded perception.

KKKKKKKKHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

:neener:

Where's my phaser?

Armed Bear: It is the tradition of the high court to hold off until the final day its most significant rulings. I've expected a final day ruling since the case was accepted by the court. Nothing to get excited about.

Not excited about it, any more than general displeasure with the position we've given our Supreme Court...

Of course, I don't much care for the alternative favored by many conservatives, either.

I will drink to that...

But still, it is what it is and for the most part it is kind of exciting... I wonder if Vegas is taking bets.

I just saw an article that B.O. has a 15 pt lead. If Scotus throws us under the bus we will be visiting our guns in a landfill.

In Newsweek. LOL

Surprised they didn't just go the whole hog and say 75% or something, but maybe they think they still have a cover to blow.

I was just thinking earlier it might go right down to the wire and be on monday the last day of the month. Glad to read I have one more day and not 5 to read about it and sift through all the lame posts by wannabe lawyers:what: Then of course we will be subjected to more from them also, "wannabes".:uhoh:

What the Heller you guys talkin' 'bout?! :neener: SCOTUS?! What's that?!

I suspect that the 9 high and mighties are wanting to get out of town immediately, indicates to me they know we won't like their ruling

There's probably more truth to that than most people realize! (at least in some cases/some years).

Has anyone forgotten about the resolution passed by the Montana legislature? They threatened to sever their relationship with the rest of the U.S. if the Supreme Court didn't give them a ruling to their liking.
