Well, I'm finally doing it. I'm moving to Utah the day after tomorrow. I won't arrive until Friday night. It's roughly a twenty-five hour drive (1,677 miles) from here to there (probably do six- or seventeen hours the first day depending on how I feel. I'm pretty good at marathon driving. Last summer I went from Bangor, Maine to Ypsilanti, Michigan, non-stop), so I have to account for transit time. I'll move into my apartment on Saturday.
So, I'll be needing a Utah driver's license, state residency, tags for my car, etc.
Once I get the D/L, getting the local carry permit should be simple, yes? How does one start the process, and what all is involved?
I know of some good gun stores. Any good ranges to join? I know, I know, in Utah, you have plenty of desert to go shooting in, but until I learn my way around, some rifle ranges would be nice. A nice outdoor range, three to five hundred yards, would be nice, to hone my m4d skillZ with my up-and-coming FAL carbine.
Oh...this is completely unrelated to the gun stuff or my move, but here goes. Couple days ago I bought a car. Nice 2001 Mercury Sable LS. Had to pay cash, good thing I had plenty of money saved up from Mississippi. The other day, upon closing the trunk, what did I notice? The grinning visage of none other than Spongebob Squarepants staring back up at me, from the base of my rear window. A black outline sticker (apparently the previous owner of my car was a young woman who took to such things). I furiously tried to remove it with my ice scraper, but to no avail. How in the hell do I get this thing off?
