Can anyone tell me how to field strip an AMT Backup .45? I have looked in a couple of my gun manuals and cannot find any info on this. I am sure it is something simple, but I am currently suffering from a case of "Doofitis" which limits my ability to use logic and common sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I thought field-stripping these could usually be performed by simply shooting 10-12 rounds through them....!!

Sorry,

Hmmmm...Since I have only shot 9 rounds throught it, then maybe one or two more will solve my dilemma. ;) I am loading up the magazine right now. :D

No, the .380 DAO Backup had a unique takedown different from the larger caliber DAO backups.

As on my 9 mm DAO Backup, pull back the slide until the cutout on the left hand side of the slide aligns with the takedown pin over the trigger. Push the pin through from the right side. Push the slide forward off the frame. Take out the recoil spring and guide and lift the barrel out of the frame. Clean and lube to your hearts content. To reassemble, do the reverse.
