There was the Timberwolf pump, long gone but seen on the secondary market.
The Universal Ferret was made in .256 and seems to have been a natural for .357 but I see no mention they were ever any built.

I traded for a Taurus Thunder Bolt .357/.38 pump rifle. I did not plan on keeping it at the time. It is a reproduction of the Colt Lightning rifle with a 26" barrel. With a cast 180 grn. Linotype gas check bullets it turns 1,900 fps.

If you got anybody's knockoff of a Colt Lightning that actually works, treasure it. From what I have read, they are not common.

I followed the above post on the Uberti Lighting a little further. They still advertise it on their website but only 45 Colt. The review linked above is from 2012. Doesn't help much if your looking for .357. Almost makes me want one.

Navy Arms lists one, but appears expensive - http://www.navyarms.com/Lightning.php

There are a few lightnings on Gunbroker. Some original and some copies. None in 357.

Taurus Thunderbolts are out of production, but if you check around someone might have one. I can't find any semi-auto 357's out there. Of course there are bolt and lever 357's to be had. I wonder if anyone ever converted a Ruger M44 to 357.

how about a revolver carbine? an 1873 buntline http://www.uberti.com/1873-revolver-carbine-and-buntline

In other news, I emailed ruger one time asking them to bring back the ruger deerfield with a banana mag patterned off the bx-25 style mag. call it the hogslayer and they'd sell all of them. it could then be scaled down a tad and chambered in 357 (hogslayer micro?) and they's sell all of them again. But it has yet to come to market, so maybe they just didn't get the email?

in the meantime, a lever gun is the only functioning game in town. (sorry lightning/timberwolf guns. you just don't work well.)

I have a American Western Arms ( long defunct) Lightning clone which was a special edition of 500 made (#89) engraved hard chrome receiver, blue barrel and beautiful checkered walnut. Cost me a grand and i waited a year for it, .38 special ( most were 45 Colt) and shoots one hole groups at fifty yards without ever having a malfunction. I also have a standard blue one in .45 that is ammo sensitive and will not cycle any short cartridges.
I purchased a Taurus Lightning but it would not ever get through a mag ful without a malfunction, it went bye-bye. To my knowledge none of the Lightning clones ever made it to the market chambered in .357, U S Firearms ( now defunct) made a clone but in traditional calibers and small numbers.

LIke others, I found the idea of a pump action 357 intriguing - but not practical at present. Wonder whether Henry ever considered producing one.... If they did I'd line up for a look at one...

I have a rossi judge 9 shot .22lr/22mag which is really fun to shoot and accurate. I've written them by snail and e mail a few times for a .38/357 judge but have never got any feedback. man that would be a cool rifle. had the ruger 77/357 bolt action for awhile, very accurate when it functioned but it was such a jamomatic that I sold it. It's now discontinued

Dog Soldier, I believe that is a Uberti offering and not available in .357 any longer, if ever, in fact i have not seen one for sale in years in any caliber. They still list it in .45 (Colt never made a lightning in .45 Colt) but i do not know of a retailer that can provide one.
