Help! - Field Striping a New VEPR AK

I just picked up my new VEPR and its gorgeous. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to get the receiver cover off of the thing. I fully depressed the button and tugged and pulled until my hands hurt, but the thing just wouldn't budge. I figured it was probably all glued together with packing grease, so I hosed down the entire joint between the receiver and the cover with Rem Oil several times to no avail. The darn thing still won't come off.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Gently tap it with a rubber mallet. Some times a little shock is all it needs to break it free.
