Help identify this double action revolver.

Friend of a friend is trying to identify this. This is the only picture I have so far. Looks like a copy of a Colt to me but I am not a Colt lover so I could be very wrong. Any help is appriciated.

Yeah, sort of a Colt/Charter hybrid. I don’t recognize the symbol on the side, cant help much. (Wouldn’t be surprised if it was Spanish, they were very good at copying guns from all over.)

My guess is also Spanish, Eibar Region revolver. They were simplified copies of Colt and S&W. If you can find some other markings it could get you closer.

Looks like some of the German revolvers of the 60's. Arminus maybe?

The German reference was on the right path. From another friend he thinks its a EIG Special Police Model Revolver cal. 38 spl. That appears to be the letter in the middle of the symbol. The G is easy to see the E and I are harder to make out.

That is what I have heard. The little reading I have just done says that that company has run product lines for FN/Browning. @mcb tell your buddy Cool find.

This might look similar. It has the Colt style cylinder release on the other side. Good revolver. Very good shooter.
