what do i got??/

i have just bought a c.i.l. .222 bolt action rifle, 4 or 5 shot clip. 5th shell fits tight in magazine.?? rifle is working order. but recently my son lost the clip. i am wondering if anyone knows how to identify this rifle so i can find another clip for it? the only markings on it are the cil stamp and serial numbers. where and what markings should i be looking for ? any and all help appreciated.

A picture would be worth 1000 words, but most CIL rifles were made by Anschutz and are of good quality. .222 Remington ammo is probably difficult to find. You won't need a clip to load the magazine, just thumb them in.

Try this link. The C.I.L. is about halfway down the page. Look at your Model number and cross reference it with that list. It will give you the maker and Manufacture model number.

5th shell fits tight in magazine.??

As well it should.
It probably is supposed to only hold four rounds + one in the chamber making it 5-shot legal for hunting a lot of places.
