Hi! I got this tang sight and I don't know which gun it fits.

It started with me ordering a sight set for my Winchester 9422 (base: 991020, screw: 995021), when I got it I noticed it did not fit my gun, the screws where so long that if mounted, they would have gone straight through my stock and out the other side, the sight itself if mounted would have hit the bolt as it was being cycled.

So I contacted marble and they said the numbers on their site where wrong. I should have had the 995001 screw set. They where not sure if the sight was incorrect but sent me a new one anyway. That is superb service BTW.

But now I got the old sight and I dunno what to do with it, I would like to sell it but I do not know which gun it would fit and I am not sure if I can trust their website, it still says the 991020 fits the following:

Marlin 39A,39AS,39M,39TDS (current model); 1894CB,1894 CBII,1894S 1894 CS,1897 CB,1897, Annie Oakley
Winchester 9422 (.22 LR)
Glenfield 30

It is for certain that it does not fit the 9422LR, the sight for the 9422LR based on the new sight marble sent me, the same as the magnum infact. Maybe the sight will fit the other models and only the info for the 9422LR is wrong, I do not know. Anyone here own any of the rifles and a marble tang sight? It'd help in figuring out this mystery.

I can't tell you what it is for, but I can tell you it isn't for a 9422M.

I own a matched pair of 9422 & 9422M's and the tangs are exactly the same with no through-tang bolt.

It would appear from the long tang bolt, that is for one of the Winchester centerfire lever-actions (92, 94) or one of the .22 pumps (1890, 06, 62, 62A) as they all use long through-tang bolts.

I have a Marbles box marked #009803 on an 1890 .22 pump.
And a box marked 9800 - PTS009710 - 009750(2) on a 92 25-20 WCF.
But:
The bases on both of them is much longer then the one in your photo though. They match the factory drilled holes in the the old rifles.

The original sight is not for a 9422M, I mentioned that I think the 9422LR and 9422M sights are identical. My new sight, which fits, seems to be a 9422M model.

That pretty much confirms then. Weird that neither brownells nor marbles has updated their sites yet.

I was googling for pictures of 1894s with marble tang sights and they seem to have the screw holes both behind and in front of the post. Not seen a tang model yet like the one I got.
