The FN is supposedly capable of sub MOA accuracy with match ammo.

The FNAR is guaranteed to shoot sub MOA. Mine is as accurate as my Rem 700, that is, I am the limiting factor, at around sub .8-.9MOA. What's also nice is the FNAR is gentle on brass (no dents) and likes the same handloads as the bolt-gun. Very convenient.

The FN is heavy, but I wouldn't want to carry any .308 semi far. I think most of the weight comes from the stock, it's rails, the barrel, and the magazines. With a 5-round magazine, and removal of the forward rails, you could easily shed a couple pounds or so. Slap a Browning Shortrac buttstock on to save even more weight.

Mags are expensive, but who does .308 mag dumps anyway (and then complains about mag prices)? I have two 20's and a 10 rounder. That's a whole box of 50 before I have to spend a minute reloading mags. The mags are very tough, too; thick guage steel with a bomb-proof floorplate.

For someone who wants high accuracy (not ultimate accuracy, reliability of a very well-made gun, for about $1K, the FNAR is the best. The same or better guaranteed accuracy can be found in AR, M1, and other platforms, but only at (much) higher price points.

That isn't an FNAR... It is an AR10 clone.
That pistol grip is a dead ringer for the one on my FNH :)
